Saddleback Carpet and Flooring did a phenomenal job removing carpet and installing Luxury Vinyl throughout our entire house. Not only does Jerry do great work, you can tell he genuinely loves his business and the products he sells. He doesn't try to persuade you in the direction of more expensive products, everything in his store is clearly marked with the price including installation, and without badmouthing the big-box stores or some of his competitors, he will be glad to tell you and show you why his products are better quality, and he will explain how his installation is different to ensure the best results and to ensure you get the proper warranty. Throughout the process, we had a lot of questions and decisions to make, and Jerry was happy to call and text to help us out. After our estimate, we decided to go with a product that was a little less per sq ft and of course he dropped our price a few grand. Very honest and transparent when a lot of people aren't. When it came time to demo and install, the crew arrived on time on the day scheduled, and finished right on time the day before we moved in as planned, and hauled everything away. We highly recommend Saddleback for all of your flooring needs!

What is more important, durability or comfort and style? High traffic areas like the entry way and stairs are better served by a durable low-profile carpet. The living room and bedrooms often get a softer plush carpet.

We install laminate flooring

Today flooring manufacturers like Shaw and Tarkett are making products that are not your father’s laminate flooring. What has changed is the quality of product because of advances in technology and factory processes. Laminate flooring is still made in 5 layers. From the bottom of the stack there is the underlayment of cork or foam which absorbs impacts, evens out the connection to the sub-floor, and wicks away moisture. The second layer is melamine or sometimes a paper foundation that is water resistant. The third layer is the important core layer made of high-density fiberboard, HDF, or medium density fiberboard, MDF. Both materials are wood fibers that are compressed and glued into a solid board. The fourth layer is where the photo of natural wood resides. The fifth layer is the most important, it is called the top topcoat. It is made of melamine, and urethane with aluminum oxide suspended inside for durability. Today’s laminate is better than your father’s laminate because each of those layers are now substantially improved.
