Care and Maintenance for all Floors

For LVP, WPC, & SPC

• Use a damp cloth to blot spills as soon as they happen to prevent stains.
• Sweep, dust, or vacuum regularly as dust particles may scratch or dull for floor’s finish layer.
• Damp mop as needed with clean water and nonabrasive floor cleaner.
• Periodically clean your floors with a product specifically made for LVP floors by spraying the product on a cloth or mop.
• Do not vacuum with a beater bar as it may scratch or dent your floors.
• Never use soap, wax, or oil-based detergents. These products may dull the finish or leave a greasy film making them harder to clean.
• Do not use steam cleaners or buffing/polishing machines.
• Use area rugs at entry ways to keep dirt at bay.

For Engineered Hardwood

• Simply sweeping on a regular basis will help maintain your floor; as similar to vinyl, dust particles may scratch or dull your floor’s finish.
• Clean with a damp mop; use a microfiber mop head that won’t be abrasive. (Make sure mop is not soaked since excessive moisture may damage your wood floors)
• Blot spills immediately after incident to avoid stains.
• Never clean with harsh cleaners such as: ammonia, bleach, & vinegar.
• Use rugs at entry way to keep dirt at bay.
• Avoid walking across with shoes on.

For Unpolished Porcelain Tile

• Sweep or vacuum the dirt from the floor on a regular basis.
• Apply cleaning solutions and hot water to small areas at a time. Do not allow cleaning solutions to dry
• Wipe away the dirty cleaning solution and rinse the surface of the porcelain tile with clean, clear water with a mop or a wet vacuum.
• Allow time for drying before walking on.
• Avoid acid or ammonia-based cleaners; they may alter grout color.
• Use area rugs at entry ways

For Polished Porcelain Tile

• Sweep or vacuum loose dirt and dust from the floor. Use an untreated, dry dust mop instead of a broom.
• Mop the floor with a mild cleaning solution. The concentration of the detergent should be 50% less than the amount used on an unpolished porcelain tile floor.
• Rinse the porcelain tile floor with clean and clear water thoroughly.
• Dry carefully to increase the shine and to prevent water spots.

For Carpet

• Vacuum as often as possible; dirt has abrasive qualities, and when it’s repeatedly ground into the carpet by everyday foot traffic, it can actually erode the backing over time.
• When cleaning a liquid spill, it is important to dab and NEVER rub. The longer you wait, the harder the stain is to get out.
• Professionally clean carpet every 12-18 months to keep it in good shape.
• If used correctly, club soda does a good job of getting tough stains out. A healthy pour of club soda over the spill and a few dabs with a clean cloth should return your carpet to its original glory.
